Hi Chuan,
Thank you, and do I hope these words convey my pride, honour and excitement of being a part of the Asian Seniors Tour and for being able to represent the AST at the Cottesloe Senior Invitational 2022.
To amateur and professional golfers alike, I have been a member of the AST for less than a year but the journey to get here has been over 30 years in the making.
In Sept 2022 I fulfilled a life long dream of playing Professional Golf, and the AST helped me achieve that goal.
I have since played in a total of 5 events, the most recent event provided me with the honour and pleasure of playing with some Australian Golfing Legends.
Having recently played in the 3rd ASM @ Phuket 2023 event at Loch Palm Golf Club in Phuket I was asked if I may be interested in representing the AST at an upcoming invitational event in Perth at the prestigious Cottesloe Golf Club.
The invitation was allocated for the leading OOM AST member but due to some availability challenges I was given the opportunity to play and represent the AST at this 75 year old event. Of course without hesitation I accepted the invitation, as this would be yet another tick of the box moment, being the first Professional Event that I would play in Australia, my home country.
Little did I know until being a part of the 2 day event that I would meet and play with a number of Golfing Legends from Australia, and these included Michael Clayton, Peter (Chooky) Fowler, Stewart Ginn, Glenn Joyner, Lucien Tinkler and Scott Barr.
Playing golf over those 2 days at Cottesloe Golf Club with these guys was for me in its true sense, ‘Living the Dream’!
I felt both honoured and proud to be able represent the AST at this event and I look forward to the opportunity of playing in many more events in Asia and possibly Australia, in the future.
I hope the words truly do convey my appreciation for the opportunity.
